I know you aren’t taking that case. And I know the actual reason why, Vegas is still certainly a small town. Everyone knows everyone. I’m not as well connected as some other girlfriends {D} has. I get that. 

 

But let me explain that, first, you have no idea what you’re doing to my mental health. Can you imagine if someone hurt you and then everyone says “I believe you” but no one will do anything about it. This is a man who told me he was psychotic, had to go to therapy for as a child in the 70s and was on a psych hold in Florida at one point. And I’m the crazy one? Jesus. 

 

Second, if a domestic violence victim stays with her attacker does that make her incapable of having him charged, trust me, I was in that relationship for 15 years. Broken bones. So I did not deserve to have him arrested and charged for breaking my eye socket? Really?

 

Why is this any different? I can tell you my shorter marriage was sexually abusive and I stayed for 4 years. This was actually worse on me than the physical abuse. 

 

All of this is documented. I have my therapist who understands trauma and says that it was a pretty normal response for me to stay with him. Any psychologist can and will attest to that.  My best friend? She is a Harvard educated physician who has been talking me through all of this since the beginning. 

 

Please read the below articles and case law. If you can’t argue this and win with a goddamn video, then you’re doing something wrong. Perhaps the law is not yojur strong point.
