Looks like Dave got a new job. Remote, but here in Nevada. I suppose I have to wait for the lobbyist list to come out for the 2027 session to confirm exactly what he’s doing, but he sure as hell has a work email address.
You know I am going to be approaching each and every one of those legislators next year, at least the ones I haven’t spoken to yet, because of NPRA. I will have my packet complete, with the documents redacted as they currently are.
The Admin Synopsis disappeared from my Scribd, but it will be in that packet. It is one of the most important documents explaining why I need these records.
I’m making myself heard, and I have friends who are lobbyists too.
Hmmm.
This has the potential to get weird. Possibly explosive.
Imagine both of us sitting in the hallway waiting for meetings.
I wasn’t kidding when I said I was going to be in Carson City next year. That wasn’t a joke. It was a plan.
And this is where I get fucking angry.
You invaded my body. You invaded my website. You invaded my electronics. And now it looks like you intend to walk straight into my advocacy work too.
How fucking dare you come back into this part of my life.
This is what I’m doing now. I’m taking what your sorry ass did to me and trying to turn it into something productive that helps other people. I’m fighting for better public-records law. I’ve been doing that openly. You knew I was doing it you were in the fucking zoom. I was going to Carson City whether you were there or not.
And now you may be there Mr. Director of Government Affairs.
Jesus Christ.
The situation speaks for itself. I may be sitting in legislators’ offices talking about what happened to me, why these records matter, and why Nevada’s public-records system needs work. Your name is inevitably part of that story.
Then you may walk into the same building representing somebody else.
That is going to be awkward as hell, and frankly, I won’t have to manufacture a damn thing. I will be doing exactly what I have already been doing: telling the truth about my experience and asking for the records and reforms I have been asking for all along.
Word may spread simply because people talk.
And if this new job is what it appears to be, I have to wonder whether it explains that visit I got from the state legislature. I don’t know that. I’m not claiming I know that. But suddenly it is a possibility I hadn’t considered before.
The video was provided to me by the Governor’s office as a public record. I have it. It is part of the record of what happened, and I’m not shy about showing the material I am legally entitled to show when it is relevant to why I’m advocating for change.
And before anybody gets confused about where the criminal side of this stands: arrest is still on the table. I do not control whether you are charged or arrested, and I’m not pretending that I do. But the law-enforcement investigation does not disappear because I dismissed civil litigation or because you got another job. That possibility is still there. Maybe it happens before the session. Maybe it doesn’t. That is for law enforcement and prosecutors to decide.
You already took enough from me. You do not get to take the thing I built out of it too.
Our lives might get interesting here shortly.
