Public Almanac

Steve Wolfson, the Democrat you may remember from him calling me a whore, he endorsed Lombardo instead of Aaron Ford for governor today. I didn't think I could like that man, but it will of course be fleeting.

I am starting another website. Me and these goddamn websites. But I have been working with AI all day today.

I don’t like the Nevada Public Meeting Notice website because it only goes seven days out and you can’t search it by keyword.

So I built a database that pulls dates and links from all the different websites so it’s easy and searchable. It is AI, so we shall see how well it works.

I’m learning JavaScript, apparently. I feel completely above my pay grade on this shit right now. It’s a little unnerving, but I think I’m halfway there. I have a new Windows laptop, so it’s much faster and better than my four-year-old $120 Chromebook.

I cashed out my 401(k) to buy new electronics thanks to the hacking bullshit. Not my best use of the money, but I needed a new computer. My other one was seven years old. That was when I was with Rich, and he bought me a really nice HP. It still works, but only if it’s plugged in, and the touchscreen doesn’t work anymore. So it was time.

Plus, I found something on the Chromebook today that appears to be recording my speech into an offscreen document. I’m always alone, but I think out loud. Yes, I sit here and talk to myself all day.

On that note, I have a job interview Thursday. I really need something to do with my time. But for now, the NV Public Almanac will be my civil duty to encourage political discourse in Nevada. I’m adding little side links about how to make a public comment, OML, why discourse is necessary for government, and things like that.

The government side of the Public Records Task Force sent out a survey to a bunch of divisions and offices asking how THEY FELT about public records requests.

That’s some bullshit.

As I said in my accidentally deleted comment, it is literally in the government’s job description to hand us records. It doesn’t matter if it’s a bitch for them to do. They have to do it.

And they talked about the way Vermont actually charges for records, and I was like, “I paid $90 for four emails, but I had them in three days. Make me wait a year? I’m not paying you.”

Like, if you’re going to charge me, get off your lazy ass and make a fucking copy. Chop chop, motherfucker. Jesus.

And mine? Dear God. If I had paid money and then just been handed that goddamn email from Demon Spawn, my head would have exploded.

Speaking of heads exploding, Dave, you saw that screenshot yesterday. You might have gotten a little ragey over that one, because you seem to have skipped right over the Stevie stories and you didn’t read the next post.

Shake my head. Poor Dave.

Wait. No. Fuck Dave.

He said, “I’m not going to stop. I’m going to fuck you with it.”

Guess what you’re getting fucked with now, sweetpea?

That’s right. Public records from the AG’s office that protected you. One of them, at least.

Anyway, civil discourse is a civil fucking duty.

I might actually finish this website, and when I do, I’ll post a link for everyone.

I still have to figure out how to market this shit. Monetization would be killer, but I don’t know how I would do that without making the site annoying and crappy.

So maybe it’s just my donation to the people of the state of Nevada.
